About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead day-to-day federal advocacy across Congressional offices in both parties and chambers
- Build and maintain relationships with Financial Services/Banking, Ways and Means/Finance, and Appropriations committee staff
- Direct contracted federal and state lobbyists and consultants
- Set priorities and engagement cadence for lobbyists
- Translate lobbying work into budget-cycle and procurement insight for Public Sector sellers
- Advise on policy issues affecting identity verification, fraud prevention, and financial services
- Support Public Sector sales cycles, including RFP language, identity standards, and procurement timing
- Lead engagement with trade associations and coalitions, including RDA, ETA, CBA, and ABA
- Manage SentiLink’s participation in trade associations and maximize membership value
- Build state-level monitoring and reporting capability for legislative and regulatory developments related to data brokers, privacy, and identity
- Prepare briefing materials and talking points
- Represent SentiLink in meetings, hearings, roundtables, and industry events
- Collaborate with Public Sector sales, marketing/comms, and executive leadership
- Report to the Head of Public Policy & External Affairs
- Engage frequently in person with stakeholders across the Washington, DC area, including Capitol Hill, federal agencies, and industry events
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3-5 years of experience in public policy, government relations, or legislative affairs
- Ideally, experience combining time on Capitol Hill, at a trade association, or in a regulated fintech/financial services environment
- Working knowledge of federal legislative and regulatory processes, especially related to financial services or identity
- Ability to pick up state-level processes quickly
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills with bipartisan credibility
- Working relationships across the aisle, House and Senate
- Excellent writing and public speaking ability
- Comfortable drafting comment letters, testimony, and briefing memos
- Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data
- Proactive, self-starting mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment
- Genuine interest in fraud, identity, privacy, and data policy
- Familiarity with state legislative tracking tools is a bonus
- Exposure to public sector sales cycles or government procurement is a bonus
- Background in identity verification, fraud prevention, or tech policy is a bonus
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must live in or plan to live in the United States by the start date
