About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead, direct, supervise and coordinate the activities of field staff and subcontractors
  • Schedule work, staff and equipment to ensure production targets are met
  • Ensure all field work is high quality and consistent with relevant OH&S policies and procedures
  • Coordinate and assist with training staff and subcontractors
  • Liaise with the client and customers to manage the client’s network and plant
  • Arrange services with Public Authorities for work on the network and in public areas
  • Prepare reports for management and the customer on work status
  • Support the Field Services Manager in day-to-day operations and contractor management within the NBN Unify Services contract
  • Assist with internal and external stakeholder management, data capture, and work-type product quality auditing

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Previous working experience in telecommunications network construction environment leading NBN and Telstra field operations
  • Expert knowledge of delivery and maintenance of large-scale construction projects for NBN
  • Thorough understanding of relevant aspects of various networks and work practices required by NBN
  • Understanding of materials/component identification and supply chain flows across all technologies
  • Ability to resolve day-to-day operational issues and solve technical problems with a high degree of autonomy and independent judgement
  • Flexibility and ability to travel required
  • 5 years Telecommunications Field based experience
  • 3 years NBN Telecommunications FTTP, FTTC, FTTN, HFC and civils field-based experience
  • 3 years Supervisory/Team Management experience
  • Construction Industry White Card
  • Provide First Aid Certificate - HLTAID003
  • Traffic Management - RIIWHS302D
  • NBN Enable Accepted Accreditation
