About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide comprehensive accounting and business partnering services to the SA Water Field Services contract and other programs in South Australia
Support Water contracts within the Utilities business unit
Provide leadership and support to operational teams through financial and non-financial analysis, accounting and reporting, contract and program forecasting, internal controls and governance, and continuous improvement
Support commercial and financial performance through forecasting, governance, risk management, pricing and contract negotiations, cost optimisation, and process improvement
Provide proactive financial insights and advice to management
Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and staff utilisation
Support contract-specific initiatives, systems implementation, and continuous improvement
Manage contract and portfolio financial forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting, including EBITDA, cash flow, overheads, and variance analysis
Provide management and clients with insights into financial and operational performance
Monitor initiative progress across cost, revenue, risk, and delivery
Strengthen accounting processes, internal controls, and compliance
Support annual budgeting, forecasting, financial monitoring, and capital expenditure analysis
Partner with management to achieve financial targets
Support half-year and year-end audits
Lead contract compliance and internal audit activities
Review business cases to support senior financial and operational decision-making

Requirements

What you’ll need

Considerable experience in a medium to large company, preferably in project, construction, asset maintenance, manufacturing, or a similar industry
Proven track record preparing financial and management reporting, including forecasts and budgets
Ability to manage day-to-day issues and resolve complex problems with a high degree of autonomy and independent judgement
Proactive and flexible approach with ability to develop new initiatives and streamline processes
Experience using SAP S4HANA, Jobpac, IFS, Greentree, and TM1 would be advantageous
Completed a Business Degree in Accounting
CPA or CA qualified
