About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain and enhance outdoor green spaces
- Sow, plant, and cultivate plants, trees, shrubs, flowers, and bushes
- Maintain green spaces and flower beds
- Prepare garden beds and raise seedlings
- Weed, trim, and prune plants
- Design gardens and choose plants
- Manage irrigation systems
- Apply pesticides and fertilisers
- Mow lawns and operate gardening equipment
- Check plant condition and determine appropriate treatment
- Prioritise tasks and manage seasonal workloads efficiently
- Interact professionally with staff, contractors, and the public
Requirements
What you’ll need- Ability to safely operate mowers, blowers, and other landscaping equipment
- Knowledge of turf care, irrigation, and pruning
- Capable of lifting, digging, bending, and working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Familiarity with OH&S procedures
- Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Safe handling of chemicals
- Ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively, and communicate effectively on-site
- Punctual, dependable, and able to complete tasks efficiently with minimal supervision
- Relevant licences, white card, and first aid requirements highly regarded
- Valid full driver's licence required
- Must be an Australian Citizen
- Able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance
