About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operate a street sweeper vehicle
- Complete paperwork and forms
- Ensure tools, vehicles, and equipment are used correctly and maintained in a safe operational condition
- Report hazards and defects to the Team Leader
- Complete the correct shutdown and end-of-day cleaning process for the street sweeper
- Complete all works with a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency
- Record works-related data in the field according to work instructions
- Participate in daily pre-start and shift-close meetings
- Contribute ideas to improve work practices, safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement
- Perform labouring duties and use hand tools
Requirements
What you’ll need- Previous experience operating street sweepers
- Previous experience operating road sweepers on freeways and arterial roads essential
- Valid minimum MR licence required
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to decipher maps
- Ability to perform labouring duties and use hand tools
- Ability to work with little or minimal supervision
- Committed team player focused on service excellence and continuous improvement
- Strong focus on worker, road user, and community safety
- High self-motivation and exceptional time-management skills
- Proven ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Digital and data management skills, including familiarity with field applications for works management
- Ability to work day, afternoon, and nightshift rosters
- Ability to work mostly nightshift, dayshift when required, and weekend on-call for emergencies
