About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Read scopes and create estimates from information gathered by on-site technicians
Document property loss with jobsite photos and upload them to the operating system/software
Write mitigation, contents, and reconstruction estimates using Xactimate and other estimating software
Record conversations and key job information using required software notes
Estimate according to carrier audit standards and manage estimates based on client and customer feedback
Communicate with project managers and lead technicians to ensure photos, notes, and signed documents are complete
Record drying information using software
Determine labor and equipment costs
Communicate with insurance companies and adjusters by phone and email, acting as a liaison
Manage estimate documents and assess project risks
Review quotes and estimates with the construction project team
Address estimate exceptions through timely revisions
Help keep cycle time at or above 80%
Attend webinars to stay current on industry standards and corporate updates
Perform work primarily in an indoor office environment

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience creating estimates in Xactimate software using program guidelines and IICRC standards
Xactimate experience is an essential requirement; candidates must demonstrate software knowledge during screening
Understanding of the commercial and insurance restoration industry
Basic construction background and understanding of building materials, flooring, drywall, and materials affected by wind, water, fire, smoke, and other property damage
Solid computer skills and experience with Word, Adobe, Excel, and similar software
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong critical thinking, multitasking, adaptability, and attention to detail
Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and electronically
Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 pounds
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
Ability to coordinate multiple projects or jobs simultaneously
Prolonged sitting and frequent typing, data entry, visual focus, and office-equipment use
Occasional standing, walking, bending, reaching, and filing
