About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide tier 1 and tier 2 satellite and network operations support
Monitor, control, and configure a global satellite communications network, including forward-deployed satellite earth terminals and embedded network communications equipment
Provide daily operational support for iDirect hub and remote systems supporting global TDMA/IP networks
Work shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required
Monitor network and space segment performance and provide customer support
Resolve customer issues related to broadband IP communication via satellite
Support complex systems installations and startup at customer sites
Monitor iDirect TDMA equipment configurations and network performance in real time
Report conditions and anomalies to the designated Team Lead
Prepare network utilization, performance, and activity reports
Open and track trouble tickets for network or terminal issues
Provide Quality Control (QC)
Isolate and correct network faults using iMonitor, iBuilder, and SolarWinds
Manage service restoration activities and update the Remedy trouble-ticketing system
Provide status reports to customers and management
Test and implement new equipment software releases
Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues from hardware upgrades, configuration changes, equipment integration, or testing
Analyze and configure moderately complex communication systems, operating systems, protocol suites, and communication media
Resolve interoperability problems across email, file transfer, multimedia, and teleconferencing platforms
Configure systems for user environments
Support acquisition of hardware, software, and subcontractor services
May contribute to proposal efforts
Support and reinforce the organization’s mission, values, and culture

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with five years progressively complex network systems engineering experience, or equivalent combination of education/training and experience
Competent technical expertise and application domain knowledge
Active U.S. Government Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret level security clearance with SCI eligibility determination
Experience managing and supporting TCP/IP and general networking concepts
Experience with SATCOM/RF concepts
One or more DoD 8570 IAT-II certifications (Security+, etc.)
