About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the design of technical solutions for Severn Trent Water Mains Renewal Programmes
  • Work alongside Design Engineers to design and deliver design packages for programme and construction teams
  • Conduct desktop studies, site visits, peer reviews, and preconstruction assessments
  • Prepare and deliver information, content, designs, and sketches to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with programme teams to ensure solutions are constructed and commissioned to agreed design specifications
  • Liaise with internal and external experts to develop efficient, cost-effective solutions
  • Identify and assess operational risks and integrate health and safety into the design lifecycle
  • Maintain proactive risk management and risk registers throughout the design process
  • Produce CDM documentation and review and validate third-party deliverables
  • Participate in post-project reviews and capture learnings

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience using CAD or BIM
  • Exposure to CDM regulations within design
  • Full U.K driving license
  • Ability to travel for the role
  • Ability to support technical design solutions from feasibility through detailed design
  • Ability to prepare designs, sketches, and stakeholder information
  • Ability to assess operational risks and maintain risk registers
  • Ability to produce CDM documentation and review third-party deliverables
