About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead high-impact finance transformation projects from concept through implementation
- Ensure project benefits are realised and embedded into day-to-day operations
- Identify and develop opportunities to enhance financial processes, reporting and business insight
- Lead transformation projects from discovery and design through successful implementation
- Produce robust analysis and develop business cases
- Ensure effective governance throughout project delivery
- Influence and engage stakeholders at all levels to build support for change and drive adoption
- Provide thought leadership on business performance, cost management and continuous improvement
- Manage project plans, risks, issues and reporting
- Track, measure and report project benefits with finance teams
- Collaborate with Finance, HR, Technology, support functions and project sponsors
- Ensure change is embedded and sustained
- Support Severn Trent’s Finance Strategy and broader business objectives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience leading complex business change and transformation projects, with proven delivery of sustainable benefits
- Strong knowledge of project lifecycle methodologies, change management and risk management
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage, challenge and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Experience identifying, defining and tracking business benefits
- Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar situations, identify key issues and develop practical solutions
- Strong analytical, commercial and problem-solving skills
- Experience with process improvement, operational analysis, requirements gathering and process mapping
- Knowledge of SAP, Kraken, Power BI and Microsoft Office applications
- Confidence and credibility to work with senior leaders and present strategic recommendations
- Professional finance qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), or currently working towards one (advantageous)
- Lean, Six Sigma or other process improvement qualifications (advantageous)
- Degree-level qualification (advantageous)
- Full UK driving licence (advantageous)
- Availability to work 37 hours a week
- Ability to work from the Severn Trent Centre in Coventry, usually in the office
