About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the successful delivery of complex capital programmes across the Security team as part of Capital Delivery
  • Lead high-performing multidisciplinary teams, including Project Managers and wider project delivery professionals
  • Manage programme delivery, multiple projects, budgets, resources and programme risks
  • Influence and manage key internal and external stakeholders
  • Work with contractors, suppliers and supply chain partners to deliver programme outcomes
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with business objectives
  • Manage programme performance, resources and strategic priorities
  • Support delivery of major capital investment projects across Water, Waste and Infrastructure programmes
  • Drive programme performance across Capital Delivery
  • Make informed decisions and navigate ambiguity across complex environments

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven experience leading the delivery of complex engineering, construction, operational or capital programmes
  • Extensive experience managing multiple projects, budgets, resources and programme risks
  • Experience leading and developing multidisciplinary teams, including Project Managers and wider project delivery professionals
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels both internally and externally
  • Experience working with contractors, suppliers and supply chain partners to successfully deliver programme outcomes
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project governance, controls and financial management
  • Experience managing programme performance, resources and strategic priorities
  • Ability to make informed decisions, navigate ambiguity and drive delivery across complex environments
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Desirable: experience within the water, wastewater, utilities, engineering or infrastructure sectors
  • Desirable: experience delivering large-scale or high-value capital investment programmes
  • Desirable: extensive knowledge of NEC contracts and project management frameworks
  • Desirable: strong understanding of CDM regulations, health and safety requirements and regulatory compliance
  • Desirable: APM qualification or equivalent
  • Desirable: NEC accreditation
  • Desirable: degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Construction, Environmental or Project Management related discipline
  • Desirable: professional membership (or working towards) with an appropriate body such as ICE, CIWEM or IMechE
