About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide strategic direction, stability and momentum through a period of opportunity and change
- Lead Future Humber as Executive Lead and Director of Marketing
- Shape, test and refine the organisation’s future operating model and proposition with the Board and team
- Translate strategic priorities into a focused and deliverable plan
- Build support among Bondholders, partners and regional stakeholders
- Maintain existing commitments while creating capacity for change
- Act as a visible and trusted advocate for Humber
- Build relationships across business, local and combined authorities, education, anchor institutions and government
- Navigate political, commercial and institutional complexity
- Strengthen regional and national relationships, reach and influence
- Provide executive oversight of key commissions and strategic programmes, including work connected to Humber Freeport and Humber Economic Board priorities
- Connect regional priorities across place, investment and talent
- Lead, support and inspire a small, high-performing team
- Support team development, wellbeing and delivery
- Work with the Board on governance, decision-making and accountability
- Report on organisational performance, finances, opportunities and risks
- Explore future income, partnership and delivery opportunities supporting long-term sustainability
- Balance ambition with financial responsibility and operational reality
Requirements
What you’ll need- Significant strategic leadership experience with credibility and confidence to operate effectively at executive level
- Experience leading through uncertainty, transition and organisational change
- Strategic thinking and commercial awareness with focus on practical delivery
- Ability to deliver with pace and impact
- Experience influencing senior leaders and navigating complex regional issues
- Clear, confident and authentic communication
- Ability to build trusted relationships and purposeful networks across sectors
- Credibility and experience across public and private sector environments
- Ability to navigate political and institutional complexity with respect, diplomacy and sound judgement
- Understanding of regional growth, place leadership, economic development or a closely related field

- Desirable: experience across multiple local authority or Combined Authority areas
