About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Accounting and Finance, to enhance and maintain software solutions for financial processes
Participate in the full software development lifecycle from design through deployment
Build new features and products as part of an integrated engineering team
Use accounting expertise to identify gaps and improve automation and reconciliation workflows
Evaluate and deploy software tools, processes, and metrics
Provide support and consulting on software systems usage
Ensure compliance with project plans and industry standards
Design software applications and features in Golang
Build reports and automations using Python and SQL
Build and scale distributed architecture while maintaining consistency
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to design market-winning products
Develop and collect metrics to drive continuous product improvement
Deliver high-quality, testable features meeting reporting and compliance standards
Mentor engineering teammates and help elevate their experience and knowledge

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least 7 years of full-stack software engineering experience
Experience bringing new ideas and building consensus on the path forward
Experience building and serving REST APIs using Go, Java, Python, or a similar language
Demonstrated experience working with Claude or equivalent large language model tools; comfortable leveraging AI for productivity, research, and communication
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
Prior experience as an accountant or financial analyst preferred
Solid understanding of reconciliation, reporting, and compliance preferred
Banking or financial institution experience is a plus
Proficiency in multiple programming languages, such as Python, Java, and Go, and database systems such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
Familiarity with software engineering tools, development methodology, and release processes
Experience with observability platforms such as Prometheus, NewRelic, or Datadog
Familiarity with containerized microservice architecture deployed with Kubernetes on AWS
Demonstrated history of delivering commercial APIs and web applications
Ability to meet reporting, compliance, coding standards, technical design, and regulatory best practices
Experience with automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
Proficiency with Git and GitLab CI/CD
