About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide individual and family therapy using evidence-based, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and person-centered approaches
- Assess client needs, strengths, risks, diagnoses, functioning, and progress, and translate findings into measurable treatment goals and clinically appropriate interventions
- Maintain continuity of care by providing sessions at the frequency established through intake, clinical need, and the treatment plan
- Monitor attendance and engagement; conduct and document outreach and follow re-engagement, transfer, or discharge procedures when needed
- Coordinate care with supervisors and internal or external partners, including Psychiatry, PRP, case management, interpreters/Family Support Workers, schools, probation officers, medical providers, and community resources
- Include parents, guardians, or family members when clinically appropriate and consistent with consent and treatment goals
- Respond to safety concerns and complete risk assessments, safety plans, incident documentation, consultation, and escalation
- Support access to psychiatric, rehabilitative, case-management, and community resources
- Use Credible and other agency systems for scheduling, documentation, communication, reporting, and workflow completion
- Maintain calendars, finalize completed services, and complete accurate clinical documentation
- Complete progress notes and GAP notes within three days of the service, cancellation, reschedule, or no-show
- Complete treatment plans, transition summaries, reassessments, Greenspace assessments, referrals, collaboration notes, transfers, discharge documentation, consents, and other assigned records within deadlines
- Correct returned documentation within three business days or the supervisor’s specified timeframe
- Document calls, messages, collateral contacts, outreach, barriers, and care-coordination activity in client records
- Respond to agency emails, telephone calls, and messages within one business day
- Protect client privacy and comply with HIPAA, professional ethics, payer requirements, licensure standards, and agency policies
- Participate in clinical supervision, onboarding, systems training, policy training, knowledge checks, performance evaluations, mandatory meetings, trainings, and agency initiatives
- Submit weekly service reporting, resolve documentation discrepancies, and collaborate across agency teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or another related behavioral-health field from an accredited program
- Active Maryland license appropriate to the services provided, such as LMSW, LCSW, LCSW-C, LGPC, LCPC, LAMFT, or LMFT
- Knowledge of ethical, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and person-centered behavioral-health practice
- Ability to assess and respond to clinical risk, maintain professional boundaries, protect confidentiality, and seek consultation appropriately
- Reliable access to the technology and communication methods necessary to perform the role
- Ability to become proficient in an electronic health record system
- Must meet weekly and quarterly service expectations after the established eight-week ramp-up period
- Maintain required licensure, continuing education, background-check, and human-resources or contracting documentation
- Preferred: two or more years of direct mental-health counseling or psychotherapy experience
- Preferred: experience in outpatient, private practice, community-based, school-based, or Medicaid-funded behavioral-health settings
- Preferred: experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, adults, and/or families with diverse clinical presentations and cultural backgrounds
- Preferred: training or demonstrated skill in evidence-based therapeutic approaches
- Bilingual or multilingual capability is welcomed and valued
