About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the planning, design, delivery, evaluation, maintenance, and oversight of broker education across SGI CANADA
- Research, design, develop, and deliver broker education programs, materials, and learning approaches
- Collaborate with internal partners, subject matter experts, external providers, regional representatives, and broker associations
- Manage broker education activities, deliverables, content quality, and learning outcomes
- Monitor materials for duplication, gaps, outdated information, and inconsistencies
- Lead feedback, evaluation, effectiveness tracking, surveys, reporting, and broker input processes
- Qualify and quantify requests, issues, and improvement opportunities and provide evidence-based recommendations
- Assess priorities based on broker impact, business need, operational risk, timing, resources, and SGI CANADA priorities
- Support broker education governance, intake, prioritization, ownership, review cycles, standards, reporting, escalation, and portfolio oversight
- Track work status, risks, dependencies, resource impacts, and priority changes
- Represent broker education and the broker voice in management planning and governance discussions
- Manage external vendor relationships and routine contracts
- Liaise with regional broker associations and national broker learning and development departments
- Lead stakeholder discussions, support alignment, and resolve issues
- Lead human resource activities, succession planning, train-the-trainer facilitation, mentoring, and leadership development
- Manage risk, budgets, decision requests, policies, internal controls, and regulatory compliance
- Apply health, safety, and emergency management requirements within the area of responsibility
Requirements
What you’ll need- Four-year degree from an accredited post-secondary education institution in a relevant field such as Business or Training/Education
- Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation
- Eight years’ experience, comprised of four years leadership with progressively challenging responsibility and four years’ experience in Property and Casualty (P&C) brokerage operations and carrier relations
- Knowledge of program development principles and practices, including needs analysis, design, delivery, evaluation, routine contract negotiation, and program budgeting
- Knowledge of adult education principles
- Knowledge of insurance products, practices, and workflows related to an independent broker model
- Knowledge of the P&C environment within SGI CANADA’s regions of representation
- Knowledge of budget processes and procedures
- Knowledge of SGI CANADA policies and procedures
- Knowledge of business processes and organizational units
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
- Ability to write and present material to diverse audiences
- Ability to develop proposals and present recommendations to obtain cooperation and approval
- Ability to work in Canada; position may be based in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Alberta, or Ontario
