About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform third-party animal feed certification audits under SGS procedures and applicable standards including GMP+, FAMIQS, GMP, SFSF, and HACCP
Collect and analyze sufficient information to provide certification recommendations
Perform certification audits in conformance with SGS global/local procedures and sector-specific schemes and standards
Determine from audit evidence whether registration should be recommended or allowed to continue
Assimilate and operate the SGS Certification System during auditing activities
Collaborate with auditor teams during audits
Provide customers with audit experience covering SGS’s accredited certification activities
Assist in training Auditors and Senior Auditors during planned audits and other training functions
Participate in witness audits by SGS or accreditation bodies
Maintain all audit-related credentials
Undertake other activities as directed by Certification Audit or Technical Accreditation management
Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in animal feed/nutrition, food science or bioscience is required
Post-secondary education (e.g., biology, chemistry, food engineering, pharmacy, agricultural engineering, nutritionist, zootechnology)
2+ years’ work experience and qualified as Lead Auditor to HACCP (third-party audit scheme e.g., SQF)
Food/feed microbiology, food safety, chemistry, animal nutrition, animal production, animal health, Feed GMP, and Feed and Food HACCP knowledge
4 years of total work experience in Management Systems
At least 2 of the 4 years in Feed/Food Safety Management Systems
Willingness to travel up to 80% by automobile or airplane, including possible international travel and weekend travel
Strong knowledge of technical applications of the standards
Highest advanced level of English
Basic mathematical skills
Basic reasoning skills and abilities
Excellent communication, interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills
Proactive attitude and excellent organizational skills
Ability to react effectively in stressful situations and make clear, well-founded conformity decisions during audits
Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects while delivering results on time
