About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Sell environmental analytical services to existing and prospective customers
- Secure business opportunities to meet revenue targets
- Manage a portfolio of clients and build long-term relationships
- Liaise between customers, Client Services, and laboratory operations
- Identify business leads and prospect for new customers
- Conduct discovery sessions to identify client needs and opportunities
- Assess client needs against SGS capabilities
- Develop value propositions with prospects
- Expand or establish business opportunities through partnerships and coordinated efforts with other SGS business lines
- Close proposals and hand contracts to the Client Services Team
- Report sales process activities and use CRM according to KPIs
- Provide market intelligence for sales materials, plans, budgets, and forecasts
- Represent SGS at tradeshows and technical seminars
- Advocate for customers and set expectations on SGS products and services
- Develop selling skills, industry knowledge, and expertise in environmental service offerings
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Chemistry, Biology, or Environmental Science
- 3 years of experience in technical sales, project management, or customer service
- 3 years’ experience in the Environmental Industry preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong leadership, self-initiative, and resource utilization
- Solid critical thinking skills
- Advanced English language skills
- Advanced reasoning and mathematical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Reside in or be local to Houston, Dallas, or Austin, Texas
- Ability to travel to clients throughout Texas
