About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare period-end journal entries, account reconciliations, and account analyses with appropriate SOX documentation
  • Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports for domestic and international licensing sales
  • Compile licensing sales data and maintain the licensing dashboard
  • Coordinate with licensing partners to resolve reporting issues
  • Prepare invoices for licensing partners and process monthly cash receipts
  • Prepare accounts receivable aging and ensure timely collections
  • Support SOX key controls and coordinate with internal and external auditors
  • Evaluate and improve SOX controls with Internal Audit
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and optimize accounting processes
  • Help reduce the close timeline by streamlining close-related activities
  • Implement changes related to accounting standards, regulatory changes, systems, policies, and procedures
  • Support annual audits and quarterly reviews
  • Prepare balance sheet and income statement fluctuation analyses
  • Provide support to Tax and Financial Reporting
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and maintain internal and external relationships
  • Prepare reports and analyses and participate in other projects as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience in private and/or public accounting
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Understanding of US GAAP and SOX
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance required
  • Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
  • CPA or CPA track preferred
  • Experience in the restaurant and/or retail industries preferred
  • Experience at Big 4 public accounting firm a plus
