About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide expertise in cleaning and maintenance of commercial and residential flooring products
- Support sales representatives with training, projects, and product performance
- Provide technical support and training to professional carpet/floor cleaning, janitorial supply, facility management, and related groups
- Train new-hire sales representatives on cleaning and maintenance
- Attend trade shows as a technical resource, providing training, demonstrations, and technical guidance
- Inspect field projects, analyze problems, recommend corrective actions, and demonstrate solutions to customers
- Prepare and submit inspection reports, product reviews/testing, and related documents
- Approach field situations as training opportunities and develop knowledgeable customer resources
- Discuss and defend cleaning and maintenance techniques verbally and in writing
- Develop technical literature, technical bulletins, and maintenance videos, and provide sign-off in the Shaw warranty process
- Conduct cleaning studies to address industry cleaning issues
- Evaluate and test cleaning chemicals, machines, and equipment
- Plan and conduct cleaning trials
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial and residential cleaning and maintenance experience
- Extensive understanding of commercial and residential cleaning and maintenance processes, methods, equipment, chemicals, and techniques
- Adequate public speaking, teaching, and training skills, verbally and in writing
- Ability to interact with customers, installers, sales personnel, and general contractors
- Leadership abilities and professionalism
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary information
- Self-motivated, organized, and effective time management skills
- Willingness to accommodate sudden changes in schedule
- Ability to travel by car and air unassisted
- Ability to perform floor cleaning and maintenance from standing or kneeling positions
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, reach, and manipulate cleaning equipment and materials
- Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds
- Ability to work outside normal daytime hours and in environments ranging from 40–95°F, with exposure to light dust and spot-cleaning solvents
- Preferred: resilient cleaning and maintenance experience and/or professional certifications
- Preferred: carpet cleaning and maintenance experience and/or professional certifications
