About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide leadership, direction, and oversight for all components of service delivery for Artemis House Region 1
  • Collaborate with Artemis House Region III and Domestic Violence Supportive Housing leadership to coordinate consistent programming and continuity of care
  • Ensure trauma-informed, client-driven case management, including safety plans, court accompaniment, shelter intakes, and counseling sessions
  • Coordinate facility maintenance, contractors, vendors, health and safety compliance, emergency staffing, and customer service
  • Coach and support direct reports and coordinate staff training and professional development
  • Host regular staff meetings, including possible evening or weekend meetings for 24-hour staff
  • Oversee program evaluation, needs assessments, client satisfaction, participation activities, and grant-required surveys
  • Ensure volunteer and in-kind donation needs are met
  • Ensure accurate program and client data collection, reporting, and VAData input
  • Develop new program initiatives with senior leadership and Fairfax County government
  • Manage program budget usage and approve timesheets, leave requests, and check requests
  • Coordinate with Fairfax County Government and agency partners for interagency collaboration and contractual compliance
  • Maintain knowledge of homelessness and domestic violence issues
  • Represent Artemis House in community-wide domestic violence and homelessness initiatives
  • Ensure services comply with agency philosophy, best practices, grants, contracts, and regulations
  • Deliver external presentations about the agency and domestic violence
  • Participate in Shelter House meetings and events
  • Serve in an on-call capacity for crisis issues
  • Exemplify Shelter House core values and perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A master’s degree in human services / related field or commensurate experience
  • 3+ years of program and staff management
  • Experience managing budgets and funding sources
  • Strong public speaking and communication skills
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize competing priorities and make sound judgements
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends when needed
  • Annual TB Test is required
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods
  • Ability to lift items weighing 10-20 pounds
  • Preferred: Experience leading / supporting programs serving homeless families and /or victims of domestic violence / sexual violence
  • Preferred: Experience leading/ managing in a residential environment
