About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the hotline and Counseling Programs
  • Support, train, and oversee the Counseling department providing individual and group therapy to adult victims of domestic and sexual violence and affected children
  • Provide support and oversight to the hotline program determining eligibility for shelter entry
  • Ensure services are trauma-informed and culturally responsive
  • Provide oversight, guidance, and training on best practices and program processes
  • Maintain knowledge of domestic violence, relationship dynamics, and trauma responses
  • Build and maintain partnerships with community-based programs
  • Develop and manage systems ensuring hotline and counseling records comply with company policy and state or federal regulations
  • Participate in a multidisciplinary team to ensure clients receive needed services promptly
  • Represent hotline and counseling programs to the County and other partners
  • Use Microsoft applications including email, Teams, and SharePoint
  • Provide clinically focused supervision and support to one Counseling Program Manager
  • Coordinate care and consult with case management and program management regarding effective client engagement and housing plans
  • Support referrals to long-term mental health and community services
  • Maintain licensure status and credentials required for independent clinical services
  • Oversee hotline operations and coordinate with the Director of Data Analytics and Insights on data tracking and funder reporting
  • Ensure hotline calls are answered empathetically and according to best practices and agency policies
  • Train and support hotline staff through feedback, education, and updated domestic violence services information
  • Provide regular supervision to one Hotline Program Manager
  • Assess hotline calls and processes, review call handling, and ensure criteria are met
  • Provide backup hotline support when needed
  • Collaborate and build relationships with community partners

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Ability to maintain professional ethics and client confidentiality
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize competing priorities and make sound judgments
  • Ability to complete tasks while navigating frequent interruptions
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends when needed
  • Annual TB test required
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods
  • Ability to lift items weighing 10–20 pounds
  • Preferred: Licensed in Virginia as an LCSW, LCP, or LMFT and able to provide clinical supervision; must carry own insurance
  • Preferred: Experience working with individuals and families, including various therapeutic intervention modalities
  • Preferred: Experience working with clients who have suffered trauma, ideally victims of domestic violence
  • Preferred: Experience working with diverse populations
