About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Direct the safe and efficient execution of work conducted by the Shermco E&I Commissioning team at the BHP Jansen project
Collaborate with the Project Manager and client representatives on execution planning
Coordinate and direct day-to-day planned activities and work scope assignments to Electrical Leads and commissioning crews
Supervise, coordinate, and schedule daily activities of assigned commissioning crews
Coach and mentor team members to improve personal and team performance
Promote leadership, positivity, Shermco values, safety actions, and organizational and customer values
Perform BHP Field Leadership (FLEX) and Shermco PSR activities to meet KPIs
Assist managers and project managers with deliverables
Distribute work packages and scope assignments to Electrical Leads and report to the Project Manager
Establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate activities according to project scope and timelines
Assist in planning project timelines, milestones, and deliverables using appropriate tools
Attend internal and external meetings as required
Maintain smart completions compliance, QA/QC, and project document control
Track project progress and report to managers and project managers
Resolve site issues and improve crew productivity
Coordinate and facilitate site crew meetings in a leadership capacity
Ensure safety incidents and near misses are documented within 24 hours and promote safe work practices
Ensure client satisfaction and resolve customer concerns
Foster positive, long-term client relationships
Maintain scope information, reports, and quality documentation
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Red Seal Interprovincial Journeyperson Electrician Certificate
Red Seal Instrumentation Technician Certificate or Technologist Diploma
Electrical Engineer, Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Electrical Engineering Technologist
Previous experience in ‘Project Coordination’ based roles
Previous experience in commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems
Previous experience in ‘Potash Mine Projects’ considered an asset
Valid driver's license and clean abstract required
Ability to work around energized power and control equipment
Ability to determine appropriate selection of materials
