Key responsibilities & impact

Provide technical support during GIS installation, commissioning, testing, acceptance, and handover
Supervise on-site installation and commissioning activities
Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues and coordinate troubleshooting with field crews and subcontractors
Oversee contracted maintenance work and verify that it meets project requirements
Review and maintain test results, operating procedures, performance reports, drawings, and equipment documentation
Coordinate daily site activities with customers, Shermco teams, and subcontractors
Promote safe work practices and follow applicable regulations, procedures, and site requirements
Ensure proper use and care of tools, test equipment, vehicles, materials, and supplies

What you’ll need

2–5 years of technical field service experience, preferably with high voltage switchgear or substation equipment
Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
Experience leading crews on electrical projects
Ability to read and interpret contracts, specifications, and technical drawings
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and test equipment software
Ability to travel up to 80%, potentially including assignments in Canada and Mexico
A valid U.S. driver’s license
Fluency in English
Authorization to work for Shermco in the United States
