About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide on-site assistance with electrical systems, including installations, testing, and troubleshooting for voltages from 480V to 600kV
  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections, including transformer and relay tests
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues involving switchgear, circuit breakers, and relay calibration
  • Maintain professional client relationships, address inquiries, and provide expert support
  • Respond to emergency calls in a timely manner
  • Keep detailed records of service activities, client feedback, and necessary product modifications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on continuous improvement and innovation projects
  • Work in data centers to maintain and test electrical systems critical to operations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Prefer an Associate’s degree from an accredited 2 year technical college in Electrical Power & Controls (EPC) or related field
  • Relevant experience performing switchgear testing and troubleshooting is an asset
  • Good PC skills, including email, internet, data entry, and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with PowerDB is a plus
  • Must be able to work safely and adhere to all electrical safety procedures
  • Prefer OSHA 30 hour, MSHA, NFPA 70-E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED training; training on each can be provided by Shermco
  • Must be able to drive daily locally/regionally and be available for periodic overnight travel
