About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and expand the organization’s social media presence across platforms
  • Own and lead the social media strategy for Lean In and Option B across all key platforms
  • Work with principals and senior leadership to create and execute compelling storytelling moments
  • Establish platform prioritization and make data-backed recommendations about where to invest, test, scale, or not participate
  • Monitor and analyze platform-specific metrics to uncover insights and optimize content strategy
  • Develop and execute editorial calendars, priorities, and cadence aligned with organizational priorities and campaigns
  • Ensure real-time research, trending news, cultural moments, and relevant data inform social content
  • Set social listening priorities and protocols for identifying and escalating timely engagement opportunities
  • Partner cross-functionally to translate programmatic work and research into engaging storytelling and assist with paid social campaigns
  • Coordinate cross-promotion between social media, Lean In’s newsletter, and website content
  • Own the boosted social strategy and budget to maximize impact
  • Serve as the source of truth for social performance, follower growth, and audience growth, translating results into insights and recommendations for senior leadership
  • Report on performance trends, growth, and key learnings to inform broader brand strategy
  • Report to the SVP of Communications and act as a strategic thought partner to senior leaders

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8+ years of experience in developing and executing multi-platform social media strategies
  • Deep understanding of platform-specific metrics and performance analytics, including engagement rates, reach, retention, growth, and conversion
  • Demonstrated ability to respond quickly and effectively to timely moments with a clear point of view
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft thoughtful, inclusive, and well-structured content
  • Avid personal user of social media
  • Experience creating visual and video content optimized for social channels
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfort working cross-functionally in a collaborative, feedback-driven organization
  • Strong, inclusive people leader and cross-functional collaborator
