About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Assist customers with post-sales implementation of software-defined data center infrastructure automation initiatives
Perform low-level architecture design, systems engineering, migrations, deployments, upgrades, and integrations
Design and implement VMware VCF, VCF Automation, VCF Operations, virtualization, vSAN, storage, SAN, disaster recovery, NSX, virtual networking, backup, ransomware resiliency, and hyperconverged solutions
Lead projects and workshops as technical lead and subject matter expert
Oversee project work and remain accountable for outcomes
Collaborate with sales and presales teams on customer discovery, scoping, and professional services opportunities
Provide configuration and upgrade services in customer environments
Participate in presales conversations and service engagement design and planning
Mentor and guide architects and consultants
Provide technical leadership in presales and post-sales activities
Monitor industry trends and contribute long-term infrastructure practice strategy

Requirements

What you’ll need

Completed Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience
5+ years of experience in solutions architecture or working with infrastructure
7+ years of experience with VMware and associated product range in enterprise environments
8–10+ years of technical experience with increasing responsibility
Required certification: VCP – VMware Cloud Foundation Administrator or VCP – VMware Cloud Foundation Architect
Optional certifications: VCAP – VMware Cloud Foundation Automation, VCAP – VMware Cloud Foundation Operations, or VCAP – VMware Cloud Foundation Architect
Willingness to travel occasionally
Thorough understanding of virtualization technologies and software-defined datacenter
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, research, written, verbal communication, organizational, and project management skills
Consultative approach to deploying enterprise architecture
