Key responsibilities & impact

Embed with strategic insurance customers to design and build high-impact applications and AI-powered workflows with Shift’s Multi-Agent solutions, from initial concept through production deployment
Map insurance company claims workflows, define impact metrics and guardrails, and assess data, APIs, and systems for integration readiness
Build and configure multi-agent workflows for carrier-specific processes and integrate them with core claims systems, data sources, and document repositories
Run pilots on live claims, train adjusters and operations staff to work alongside agents, and move deployments into production
Monitor agent accuracy and production performance; tune prompts, tools, and guardrails based on real outcomes
Feed learnings back into the platform to accelerate subsequent carrier deployments
Serve as the insurance carrier’s primary technical point of contact and build long-term customer trust

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years in data/software engineering or technical deployment, writing production-grade code (C#, Python, JavaScript, SQL or comparable) with a track record of scoping and delivering complex systems in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
Hands-on experience building and deploying LLM-based and multi-agent systems, prompting, orchestration, memory, and production safeguards like guardrails and human-in-the-loop review
Strong enterprise integration experience: APIs, databases, microservices, and unstructured document processing (OCR/parsing) against complex systems like claims or subrogation platforms (Guidewire, Arb. Forum)
Proven ability to work embedded with a customer's IT and business teams, holding technical conversations, adapting in the room, and communicating tradeoffs clearly
Comfort with startup ambiguity and travel (~50%) to carrier sites for discovery, deployment, and go-live
