About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build and maintain full-stack web application features, including scalable distributed microservices
Own complex features from technical design through production deployment
Adhere to high-performance and reliability standards
Enhance and support the core web application stack for high-throughput traffic
Participate in on-call rotations
Troubleshoot production incidents and maintain high SLAs
Collaborate with Product, Infrastructure, Design, and API Partners
Set high engineering standards and mentor through collaboration
Improve CI/CD pipelines, container-based software distribution with Docker and Kubernetes, and observability
Partner with product managers and designers to deliver customer-focused features
Contribute to decisions balancing technical quality with user experience

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum 7+ years of experience in software development
Experience building and maintaining highly available, scalable web applications
Proficiency in programming languages and frameworks commonly used in full-stack development on distributed systems, such as React, Python, Go, Kafka, SQL, and NoSQL
Strong understanding of software architecture, object-oriented programming, and design patterns
Experience with AI-assisted development workflow
Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across different organizations within the company
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
BSc in a STEM field, with a preference for computer science and software engineering
Bonus: Experience with the shipping and logistics industry
Bonus: Experience with shipping AI-powered customer-facing features
Role can be based anywhere in the US except Delaware, Nevada, Ohio, Oregon, Hawaii, New Mexico, and West Virginia; many roles can be based internationally
