About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Advise directors and managers on organizational design, employee relations, people performance and development
  • Identify people issues and trends early and build solutions with stakeholders
  • Support manager development and employee enablement initiatives
  • Act as the first point of contact for employees and managers in Germany
  • Manage HR administration, including contract management, employee relations and legal documentation
  • Ensure smooth onboarding with Talent Acquisition
  • Support offboarding and exit formalities
  • Ensure compliance with German labour law and company policies
  • Track HR regulation changes and implement policy updates
  • Manage HR documentation and maintain accurate employee data
  • Handle warnings, terminations and settlement agreements with external counsel
  • Manage absence and occupational health, including sick pay continuation, BEM reintegration, preventive health checks and workplace risk assessments
  • Coordinate with Payroll to ensure accurate and timely payroll and provide HR data
  • Work with Talent Acquisition on recruitment processes
  • Manage the German works council relationship, including information, consultation and co-determination
  • Contribute to international HR initiatives and transformation projects, including AI-native transition initiatives
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives using survey results and people data
  • Support HR systems implementation and process improvements
  • Report to the Chief Human Resources Officer

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Around five years of experience as an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist
  • Ideally experience in an international and fast-paced company
  • Experience in a software or technology company is a plus
  • Solid knowledge of German labour law
  • Hands-on experience working with a works council
  • Ability to build credibility with senior managers
  • Ability to work autonomously as the main HR contact for Germany
  • Experience with HR systems and process improvement
  • Knowledge of BambooHR is a plus
  • Analytical, well organised and goal-oriented
  • Ability to manage several priorities at once
  • Ease with AI tools in daily work, or a clear appetite to learn
  • Fluent German and English, written and spoken
  • Three days per week on site at the Munich office
