About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Information Governance Manager and Senior Information Governance Analyst in administering and enhancing information governance, ethical wall, client confidentiality, and preventive security control programs
  • Collaborate with information security, risk management, and IT teams on investigations, policy enforcement, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Document, analyze, and assess information, records, email, and file management processes; identify compliance gaps and risks; and support approved improvements
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and technology teams to support project execution, track deliverables, escalate issues, maintain project documentation, and assist with operational readiness
  • Analyze business processes, operational workflows, and departmental needs to support process improvement, policy development, implementation, and firm-wide service delivery
  • Conduct document and electronic content security analysis and investigate alerts involving potentially inappropriate actions
  • Prepare recommendations for process and procedure design or reengineering to enhance preventive security controls and compliance
  • Contribute to presentations and reports for leadership
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and analytics related to information governance, ethical walls, data protection controls, and special projects
  • Provide actionable insights for program oversight and strategic decision-making
  • Assist lawyers and staff with reviewing, organizing, and processing emails, documents, files, and information or document access requests
  • Draft process controls, test plans, and assessment criteria to measure compliance
  • Move, tag, and set appropriate security settings on electronic documents
  • Stay abreast of industry developments and leading practices in information governance, information security, data classification, and records management
  • Perform other duties and support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or five (5) years of relevant experience in a law firm, financial services, professional services, corporate legal department, or other highly regulated environment in lieu of a degree
  • Knowledge of information governance, information security, data privacy, and records management procedures, principles, and best practices
  • Experience supporting cross-functional initiatives and technology-related projects
  • Familiarity with document management systems such as NetDocuments and iManage
  • Familiarity with content management and collaboration platforms such as Microsoft SharePoint
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Outlook
  • Strong organizational skills

  • Preferred: Experience with information security monitoring technologies such as Cyberhaven, Netskope, and/or Proofpoint
  • Preferred: Familiarity with AI governance and information protection practices supporting secure and compliant use of AI-enabled tools
  • Preferred: Information Governance Profession (IGP) certification
