About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide clinical training and support to customers as a dosimetry subject matter expert, on-site and/or remotely.
  • Ensure customers can safely and effectively operate Varian Medical System equipment and use its complex functionality.
  • Manage customer clinical expectations.
  • Provide competitive product performance information to headquarters, marketing, or engineering groups.
  • Coordinate or lead customer and employee training courses.
  • Conduct large-group presentations at seminars, training programs, and trade shows.
  • Provide demo support at local, regional, and national customer trade events.
  • Create complementary training materials, including quick tips, workbooks, videos, and implementation guides.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize customer relations and service delivery.
  • Create and maintain formal customer training support documents.
  • Design and oversee initial and ongoing training for Clinical Applications Specialists and training for new product releases.
  • Mentor Clinical Training Specialist I and II.
  • Perform other duties assigned by Training Operations and/or Applications Manager.
  • Interact daily with functional peer groups and external customers.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be a Certified Dosimetrist.
  • Clinical understanding of the processes in a medical and/or radiation oncology department.
  • Travel required up to 75-100% and intermittent weekends.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Exemplary communication skills (listening, verbal, written).
  • Adaptable, positive and open to new ideas and/or situations.
  • Highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative.
  • Enthusiastic learner who is eager to meet challenges and quickly assimilate new concepts.
  • Must complete the LMS training plan specific to assigned responsibility.
  • Meets all Vendor Credentialing requirements necessary to gain VMS client site access, unless prohibited by law.
  • Experienced knowledge in remote training tools, Microsoft Office Suite, SalesForce, ServiceMax, Qlikview and Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Proficient delivery of training for a minimum of 20%-30% of Varian products.
  • Experienced product knowledge to support cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years clinical experience or equivalent 3 years in position.
  • Enrollment in Varian approved Development Program.
  • Requirement to travel into Canada and must meet Canadian Border Services requirements.
  • Valid U.S. or Canadian driver’s license.
  • Successful candidate must be able to work with controlled technology in accordance with US export control law.
