About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the annual event calendar, budget, and return on investment
- Run the internal event scoring framework and evaluate booths, walks, and passes
- Build and run owned events including dinners, roundtables, and hosted formats
- Establish a recurring San Francisco community program from the SF office
- Produce clips, photos, and Twitter posts from every hosted or attended event
- Grow Sift’s Twitter presence and encourage team participation
- Partner with RevOps to improve attribution for booths, dinners, and sponsorships
- Build a systematic booth execution process with assets, shipping and staffing runbooks, collateral, lead capture, and 48-hour follow-up
- Develop employer-brand programs including Working at Sift and Why I Joined
- Make engineers central to employer-brand content
- Own speaking submissions and sponsorships in coordination with communications
- Measure each program, discontinue low-converting activities, and scale effective ones
- Carry event-sourced pipeline and talent contribution targets with the Head of Sales and Head of Talent
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4+ years in field marketing, growth, events, brand, or community, with ownership of a calendar, budget, and measurable result
- Experience at a company during a period when it became a desirable place to work, with a clear account of personal ownership
- Demonstrated ability to turn in-person events into online content and engagement
- Presence on or fluency with Twitter, especially hard tech and defense tech communities
- Track record of running hosted formats that attract invite demand
- Real Bay Area network in hard tech, defense tech, robotics, or autonomy
- Experience balancing event quality with measurable attribution and funnel results
- Production experience directing video, photography, and editorial content quickly
- Operational experience with contracts, deposits, shipping deadlines, badge scanners, and vendor invoices
- Comfort with CRM and marketing automation systems, building invite lists, and running campaigns
- Willingness to travel roughly one show per month in season, regularly to LA, and periodically to DC
- U.S. Person required: U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual such as an asylee or refugee, in compliance with ITAR/EAR regulations
- Bonus: Experience in NDA-constrained environments
- Bonus: Experience opening a new market or city
- Bonus: Existing relationships with San Francisco venue, production, and experiential vendors
- Bonus: Experience with partner and co-marketing motions, shared booths, and co-hosted events
- Able to work from the San Francisco office Monday through Thursday, four days per week, or willing to commute or relocate
