About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and manage the Brazil finance team across both legal entities
- Act as the main finance liaison between Brazil and Group Finance in Europe
- Own the monthly close, management accounts, balance sheet, cash flow and reporting process
- Ensure Brazilian accounting records are aligned and reconciled for IFRS and Group consolidation purposes
- Oversee Brazilian tax and statutory compliance with external accountants, auditors and tax advisers
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and cash flow planning
- Provide financial oversight and profitability analysis for the events business, including event budgets, revenue, costs and margins
- Oversee financial reporting and revenue performance for the affiliate/media business
- Monitor working capital, collections, payments and funding requirements
- Maintain and improve financial controls, accounting processes and reporting procedures
- Ensure accurate accounting records and reconciliations within Xero
- Identify financial, tax and operational risks and escalate material issues to Group Finance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong finance/accounting experience in Brazil
- Strong understanding of Brazilian tax and statutory accounting requirements
- Good working knowledge of IFRS
- Experience working within an international or multinational group
- Experience managing a finance team and taking ownership of month-end reporting
- Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis skills
- Fluent/professional Portuguese and English
- Strong Excel skills
- Experience with Xero (preferred)
- Experience with events, affiliate/media, digital, technology or another fast-paced international business (preferred)
- Experience reporting Brazilian entities into an international Group consolidation (preferred)
- Experience with cross-border and intercompany transactions (preferred)
