About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and grow ZEV's dealer network throughout the assigned territory
  • Recruit new Master and Premier stocking dealers
  • Convert existing accounts into stocking dealers and reactivate dormant accounts
  • Average six in-person dealer visits per week
  • Conduct an average of two dealer product-training sessions per week
  • Host at least one weekend dealer event per month, including range days, demos, grand openings, promotions, consumer events, and shooting events
  • Build relationships with dealer owners, buyers, managers, and sales staff
  • Increase ZEV product placement and visibility within dealer locations
  • Support new-product launches and dealer product introductions
  • Maintain prospecting and follow-up throughout the territory
  • Document dealer visits, contacts, training, opportunities, and follow-up activity in the CRM
  • Attend major industry and company events, including SHOT Show, NRA Annual Meetings, buying-group shows, distributor shows, trade shows, and ZEV meetings
  • Report to the Director of Sales

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must live within the assigned territory
  • Strong firearms knowledge and comfort discussing and demonstrating firearms
  • Comfort conducting dealer training and live-fire product demonstrations
  • Extensive travel by vehicle and commercial airline
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to safely and legally possess, transport, handle, and demonstrate firearms as required
  • Comfortable with an irregular schedule
  • Highly organized with exceptional follow-through
  • Self-motivated and capable of independently managing a large geographic territory
  • Prior outside-sales or territory-management experience, ideally in the firearms, shooting-sports, or outdoor industry (preferred)
  • Existing relationships with dealers, distributors, or buying groups in the assigned territory (preferred)
