Key responsibilities & impact

Develop, optimize, and maintain OData services, CDS Views, and AMDP interfaces connecting S/4HANA with SAP MII and SAP ME
Design and build clean-core extensions, APIs, and integration flows on SAP BTP
Create custom ABAP objects, User Exits, BADIs, and Enhancement Spots in S/4HANA manufacturing modules PP, QM, MM, and PM using RAP or modern extensibility frameworks
Troubleshoot, profile, and optimize complex ABAP code and S/4HANA database queries for high-volume, real-time data transmission
Ensure custom code, BTP applications, and data structures comply with defense-specific mandates, ITAR data segregation, and secure cloud standards
Collaborate with Lead Functional Consultants to translate technical specifications into secure, scalable S/4HANA ABAP and BTP solutions
Support the global upgrade and implementation of the digital manufacturing platform SAP MII/ME
Build and optimize ERP-side interfaces, custom extensions, and cloud-readiness strategies for shop-floor systems
Enable secure, high-performance data exchange between ECC/S/4HANA, SAP BTP, and MII/ME layers
Track material and cost flow, manage project-level WIP and inventory visibility, and support make-to-project and engineer-to-order scenarios through PMMO

Requirements

What you’ll need

8–12+ years of advanced SAP ABAP programming experience
10–15+ years’ experience in SAP
Minimum 1–2 projects and 3+ years of hands-on experience migrating to and developing natively in SAP S/4HANA
At least 2–3 brownfield implementations/migration projects to S/4HANA
Hands-on ABAP skills and hands-on code remediation work
Practical experience with SAP BTP services, including SAP Integration Suite, Extension Suite, or BTP ABAP Environment
Deep expertise in CDS Views, OData services, AMDP, and SAP Clean Core development principles
Deep technical understanding of S/4HANA PP, QM, and MM database tables and logic
Nice-to-have experience developing code for MES or SAP MII/ME layers, excluding SCADA
Strong analytical skills and precise attention to detail
Collaborative ability to work across global, distributed technical teams
US citizenship or specific regional security clearances may be required due to ITAR and defense contract restrictions
Strongly preferred PMMO (Project Manufacturing Management & Optimization) experience
SAP S/4HANA implementation or migration experience with code remediation
Preferred SAP BTP certification
Preferred SAP ABAP Development certification
Preferred SAP Fiori and UI5 development experience
Preferred Agile and Scrum delivery experience
Leadership skills and ability to deal with a strong-personality customer
Strong organization, documentation, planning, and ability to lead while remaining hands-on technically
