About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and manage employee relations and labor relations matters across the organization
- Interpret and apply collective bargaining agreements
- Partner with HR to resolve grievances and support arbitration preparation
- Collaborate with HR leadership on labor and employee relations issues
- Advise HR on performance management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions
- Maintain employee relations documentation and case records
- Develop, lead, and conduct employee investigations
- Refine investigation documentation standards, templates, and workflows
- Ensure company policies and practices comply with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Develop, review, and support implementation of HR policies and procedures
- Monitor legal changes affecting employee and labor relations
- Support development and delivery of HR training on employee/labor relations and investigations
- Track and analyze employee relations trends and metrics
- Prepare reports for Legal to support strategic decision-making
Requirements
What you’ll need- JD degree preferred
- SHRM-SCP preferred
- 3–5 years of experience in employee and/or labor relations, preferably in a unionized environment
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, Title VII, and NLRA
- 3–5 years of experience in workplace investigations
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Strong mediation and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to manage high-pressure and complex situations with empathy and creativity
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be able to work from the Stockton location at least 3 days a week
- Must be able to travel 35%–50% to manufacturing locations in the U.S.
- Successful drug screen and criminal background check required
