About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Improve and develop relationships with builders and contractors throughout the branch territory
- Raise awareness of Simpson Strong-Tie products, system solutions, software solutions, services, and training resources
- Implement, monitor, and enhance the Builder Program within and beyond the branch territory
- Identify and respond to local builder product knowledge needs
- Develop and maintain a database of contacts throughout builders' organizations
- Mentor and train field sales representatives to become trusted advisors to the builder community
- Conduct training ride-alongs, joint presentations, mentorship, and peer-to-peer accountability
- Represent the company within the builder community and broader construction industry
- Conduct regular meetings with builder partners and contractors to understand needs and identify opportunities
- Monitor builder, market, industry, product, and technology trends
- Coordinate and promote builder workshops, customer training, and educational programs
- Document customer calls, meetings, activities, and updates in Salesforce
- Work with the software team to evaluate customers, communicate software features and benefits, and train builder customers
- Educate Territory Managers on builder software and technology offerings
- Conduct jobsite visits and provide product installation and application guidance
- Mentor the branch sales team and Builder Services Representative
- Provide sales and product training, support sales meetings, and develop tools to improve sales effectiveness
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree (B.A/B.S.) from a four-year college or university preferred
- 5 years' construction industry experience with products and services
- Fluent in residential construction practices and distribution channels
- Strong working knowledge of project workflow from architect/engineer to contractor
- 3 years of Simpson Strong-Tie knowledge of products and solutions
- Sales and account management experience with a proven track record of sales/profit growth preferred
- Ability to develop and present captivating presentations
- Ability to build and sustain productive customer relationships
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Proficient knowledge of Salesforce CRM and SAP ERP
- Ability to learn new systems in a timely manner
- Practical working knowledge of the residential housing industry
- Domestic and international travel up to 60% of the time
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Successful drug screen and criminal background check required as a condition of employment
