About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Improve and develop relationships with builders and contractors throughout the Rocky Mountain region
  • Raise awareness of Simpson products, system solutions, CG Visions software, and training services
  • Work with individuals at all levels of builders' and contractors' organizations
  • Identify new opportunities and respond to builders' requests
  • Implement, monitor, and enhance the Builder Program within and beyond the branch territory
  • Identify and respond to local builder product knowledge needs
  • Develop and maintain a database of contacts throughout builders' organizations
  • Mentor and train field sales representatives through ride-alongs, joint presentations, mentorship, and peer-to-peer accountability
  • Represent the company with builders, customers, and the industry
  • Conduct regular meetings with builder partners and contractors
  • Identify builder and industry trends and connect stakeholders within the construction industry
  • Champion the Simpson value proposition and explain the builder program, rebates, and customer value
  • Coordinate builder and contractor training with Territory Managers
  • Enter calls in Sales Force and maintain accurate customer information
  • Develop and promote builder workshops and training
  • Train builder customers and Territory Managers on CG Visions software and builder technology
  • Work closely with the CG Visions team and vet potential customers
  • Conduct jobsite calls and educate builders on proper Simpson product installation and benefits
  • Mentor branch sales teams and Builder Services Representatives on sales tools, software, and builder program direction
  • Conduct sales and product training for field sales
  • Assist with sales meeting and training session presentations and organization
  • Develop sales tools and direct Builder Services Representative support for builder efforts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS or BA degree preferred
  • 5 years experience with construction industry products and services
  • 3 years experience with Simpson Strong-Tie knowledge
  • 3 years experience in sales and account management
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions
  • Ability to read and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups
  • Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization
  • Ability to interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled instructions
  • Ability to schedule and manage time efficiently
  • Consultative selling skills
  • Ability to tailor solutions to customer needs while balancing company needs
  • Working knowledge of the interconnectedness of the construction industry
  • Working knowledge of building codes, acceptance criteria, construction and engineering terminology and principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Ability to operate power tools and hand tools is a benefit
  • Ability to travel 40% domestically
  • Must successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check as a condition of employment
