About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
Build and evolve distributed systems for high-volume, time-sensitive workloads
Develop solutions using Java/Rust and distributed messaging platforms such as Kafka
Design efficient data solutions using relational and analytical databases including MySQL, ClickHouse, BigQuery, and Athena
Ensure reliability, observability, fault tolerance, and operational excellence across services
Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers across multiple regions
Contribute to code reviews, technical discussions, and engineering best practices
Improve platform performance, scalability, security, and maintainability
Participate in knowledge sharing across the global anti-fraud organization

Requirements

What you’ll need

Professional experience in backend software development
Bachelor's degree in a related field
Professional working proficiency in English (Advanced or Fluent)
Strong experience developing applications in Java and/or Rust
Experience designing and operating distributed systems
Solid understanding of event-driven architectures and messaging systems such as Kafka
Experience working with relational and analytical databases
Experience building applications deployed on cloud platforms such as AWS
Experience with containerized environments including Docker and Kubernetes
Experience implementing observability solutions, including logging, metrics, and monitoring
Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including testing, code quality, performance, and security
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Be based in Brazil
