About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage assigned loans day to day, including communication with borrowers and lenders/investors
- Process borrower requests and consents
- Analyze property financials and report property/loan performance to lenders/investors quarterly via Quarterly Asset Reports (QAR)
- Correspond with sponsors/borrowers regarding property-level concerns, including capital expenditure projects, leasing progress, construction status, and overall performance
- Prepare and submit weekly loan portfolio updates identifying relevant issues, discussions, and events
- Monitor loan-specific events and triggers
- Provide loan surveillance support by monitoring and reporting on property-level cash flows, rent rolls, market conditions, and property valuations
- Perform other activities assigned by the manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree preferred in real estate, finance/accounting, business, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years of industry and/or relevant experience, typically at a Senior Analyst or Analyst level role or external equivalent
- Proficiency with major property types: office, industrial, retail, and multifamily
- Basic knowledge of specialty property types: hotels and condominiums
- Proficiency with advanced CRE principles including underwriting, loan servicing, and treasury practices
- Proficient with CRE calculations and concepts: IRRs, NPVs, DSCRs, DY, NOI/NCF
- Basic knowledge of deal types: transitional, development, pre-development, repositioning, and stabilized properties
- Knowledge of complex debt positions including participations, syndications, CLOs/CDOs, senior and mezzanine debt, warehouse, and repo lines
- Ability to create complex financial models
- Ability to make sound decisions and work independently on projects
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment running multiple tasks under tight deadlines
- Excellent reading and comprehension skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
