About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Carry out engineering activities related to product design within the portfolio
- Create and release engineering drawings and bills of materials using Engineering Change Management
- Create generic bearing models and generate bearing variants
- Drive digitalization activities for modular design processes
- Define engineering requirement specifications for bearing components and assemblies
- Define project schedules and release prototype drawings
- Initiate purchase orders and coordinate with vendors
- Conduct tests with laboratory engineers and modify designs to meet performance requirements
- Collaborate with product development centers
- Conduct design reviews and obtain cross-functional team buy-in
- Drive projects independently and multitask
- Create and modify 3D models and proposal/manufacturing drawings
- Resolve CAD modeling issues and incorporate GPS into product design
- Resolve Windchill/PDM issues involving CAD uploads, attributes, and WT parts
- Work according to established product lifecycle management processes
- Report safety, health, environment, and quality risks and incidents
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3–6 years of experience
- Post Graduation/Graduation in Mechanical Engineering
- Strong engineering knowledge
- Experience in conceptual design and end-to-end solution development
- Strong understanding of PDP process and quality requirements
- Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and interference calculations
- Proficiency in Creo modeling, assembly, and detailing
- Knowledge of drawing release and ECM processes
- Proficiency in Geometric Product Specification (GPS) and dimensional, form, and surface tolerances
- Knowledge of precision, accuracy, reliability, and traceability
- Knowledge of metrology and metallurgy
- Proficiency in selecting materials based on application/design requirements and material properties
- Experience applying measurement principles in manufacturing and other processes
- Proficiency in manufacturing and machining processes
- Knowledge of Creo design automation, map keys, UDFs, Pro-Programming, and Pro-Toolkit is an added advantage
- Ability to participate in continuous improvement, quality, project management, audit actions, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and SHE/quality procedures
