About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Translate functional needs into technical requirements
- Design and develop/customize PLM solutions involving Windchill PDMLink, Creo Parametric, SolidWorks, and Inventor
- Create solution design documents for internal SKF development teams and IT suppliers
- Ensure successful implementation of proposed solutions
- Continuously evaluate and develop new PLM technologies
- Recommend system enhancements, modifications, and functionalities
- Build system configurations and customizations/developments for current and future PLM requirements
- Drive and implement best practices and methodologies during major rollouts of the existing PLM environment
- Work with internal stakeholders in workshops to identify opportunities and capture requirements
- Support business case creation, evaluate risks, and translate findings into technical specifications
- Lead and steer new technologies and capabilities according to the PLM roadmap and strategy
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience defining and developing Windchill PDMLink and Creo Parametric solutions
- In-depth knowledge and development experience with core PLM modules, including Part/BOM management, CAD/Document management, Change management, and Options and Variant management
- Strong exposure to PLM data model schema/architecture, preferably Windchill
- Mandatory strong programming knowledge of Java, JSP, HTML, REST API, and XML
- Good understanding of software and software development lifecycle
- Ability to work in an Agile framework environment
- Knowledge of PTC ThingWorx and Python programming is an added advantage
- Knowledge of design, application engineering, and sales processes is preferred
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in mechanical or computer engineering
- 7–10 years of relevant functional work experience
- At least 3–4 years of experience leading PLM solutions development and customizations
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a matrix organization
- Ability to work in a volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) environment
- Ability to propose and defend technical solutions with short- and long-term views
