About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build hands-on training experiences, including labs and scored labs, aligned with customer needs and technical standards
Support the Lab Development group in refining and accelerating development processes while maintaining quality and margins
Conduct technical content reviews and identify Markdown, user-experience, content-flow, and broken-lab-step errors
Troubleshoot whether errors result from input issues, UI changes, or broken lab steps
Record lab-step updates, instructions, UI changes, screenshots, and blocking issues in lab test spreadsheets
Collaborate with internal lab developers and customers to build virtualized environments with supporting learning instructions
Write PowerShell and BASH scripts to deploy and score labs
Use platform features to create effective learner experiences
Communicate with customers throughout the product development lifecycle and proactively address deviations from best practices
Maintain open communication with project teams regarding content efforts
Stay current with new and updated technologies
Advise customers on Skillable products and solutions when needed
Use automated lab and courseware publishing processes to manage and deploy content
Work with Instructional Designers to develop professional hands-on experiences
Determine services and features for hands-on experiences based on audience profiles, learning objectives, best practices, and strategic initiatives
Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to build technically accurate training aligned with learning objectives
Support company values through positive interactions with internal and external stakeholders
Participate in strategic business initiatives and special cross-functional projects as required

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in a related field (computer science, etc.) or relevant professional experience
4+ years of experience in a technical environment, including Lab Development, Systems Administration, Systems Automation, and/or Support Engineering
Experience using PowerShell to query endpoints or automate solutions
Experience mentoring and training fellow technologists on new technical platforms and advanced features
Preferred experience using Bash and Python to query endpoints or automate solutions
Experience using CSS and JavaScript is a plus
Technical skills across cloud and on-premises platforms, including Microsoft Azure, AWS, VMware, Hyper-V, Linux, and Docker
Working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform and other platforms is helpful
Proven skills designing, implementing, administering, and automating cloud and on-premises platforms and services using PowerShell, BASH, CLIs, and related scripting
Experience in DevOps and related disciplines highly desired
Ability and willingness to participate in multiple technical projects concurrently
Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Experience developing training curriculum, training aides, and other self-paced or instructor-led training content is a substantial benefit
Must be authorized to work in the United States
Must maintain a primary residence in one of the listed eligible U.S. states
Must work from a private, focused home-office environment and regularly use a PC and phone
