About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Hire, onboard, coach, and retain the Solutions Engineering team
Develop team members and establish clear ownership and territory coverage
Set technical quality standards for demos, trial plans, site assessments, and customer-facing documentation
Manage Solutions Engineering capacity and make resource tradeoffs visible to leadership
Own the technical win across the Top 1200 nationally
Serve as senior technical escalation point for critical pursuits, deployments, and customer issues
Partner with Sales leadership on pipeline, forecasting, account planning, and land-and-expand motions
Systematize demo standards, site assessment quality, and trial design for repeatable scale
Own site assessment quality and verify dock locations before deployment
Ensure proofs of concept are structured, opportunity-linked, and measurable
Guide integration and airspace strategy, including CAD, dispatch, video and evidence management, streaming platforms, BVLOS approvals, waivers, COAs, and docked operations
Maintain command of public sector procurement paths, including cooperative contracts, grant-funded programs, and public sector buying cycles
Represent the aggregated customer voice to Product and Engineering
Build enablement content, reference architectures, and reusable technical assets
Maintain first-hand product knowledge through frequent hands-on use
Travel to customer engagements, field activities, deployments, team onsites, and company events
Report to the Director, Solutions Engineering – SLED

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of relevant technical experience, including customer-facing technical experience in solutions engineering, field engineering, or applications engineering
1+ years leading a technical team, formally or as a technical lead with hiring and mentorship responsibility
Strong understanding of drone technology, Public Safety sUAS operations, and regulatory compliance
Knowledge of Drone as First Responder concepts of operation and dock-based remote operations
Working knowledge of Public Safety technologies, including CAD, VMS, and related software platforms
Track record of hiring, onboarding, developing, and retaining technical people
Experience operating inside a Sales organization, including owning a quota and deal strategy
Excellent written and verbal communication
FAA Part 107 Certificate, or ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire
Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs unaided
Prior public safety service, Drone as First Responder program experience, grant funding knowledge, cooperative purchasing vehicle familiarity, Salesforce, Palantir, Databricks, or technical team scaling experience are nice to have
