Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the delivery of mining studies and assist in preparing technical reports
  • Assist with pit optimisation, mine design, production scheduling, fleet estimation and cost modelling
  • Analyse data and contribute to technical evaluations
  • Participate in scoping, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across technical disciplines
  • Contribute to client presentations, project reports and technical documentation
  • Develop skills in industry-leading mining software and analytical tools
  • Work across office-based and site-related projects with mentoring from experienced mining professionals

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering (completed, or graduating soon)
  • Strong academic performance
  • Eligibility to work in Australia
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to learn new software and technical concepts quickly
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a collaborative team environment
  • Interest in consulting and working across a variety of mining methods and commodities
  • Exposure to pit optimisation and/or enterprise optimisation software is advantageous but not essential
  • Exposure to mine planning and design software is advantageous but not essential
  • Exposure to mine scheduling software is advantageous but not essential
  • Exposure to Excel, Power BI or Python is advantageous but not essential
  • Vacation work, internships or practical mining experience is advantageous but not essential
  • Understanding of open pit and/or underground mining methods is advantageous but not essential
