About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support import and export documentation in line with customs regulations, laws and procedures
  • Ensure products comply with CBP regulations using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule and Code of Federal Regulations, and maintain HTS codes in SAP
  • Request and compile import documentation, including customs invoices, certificates of origin and cargo control documents, and liaise with government agencies
  • Validate customs broker invoices for payment approval and resolve invoice disputes
  • Manage Large Scale project shipments from import through delivery to site
  • Manage complex tasks and projects
  • Enter shipments into the Transportation Management System and maintain transportation records
  • Track KPIs for bill of lading and label creation and freight quotes provided to sales
  • Analyze transportation costs and services
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, customers and carriers
  • Share expertise and support training for Transportation Coordinators and other employees
  • Stay current on import and export laws and regulations
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience on either the carrier or shipper side
  • Working knowledge of all carrier modes, including air, parcel, ocean, full truckload, less than truckload and flatbed
  • Proven carrier management experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel, Access and PowerPoint
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer service focus
  • Experience maintaining and using a TMS (preferred)
  • Experience with SAP (preferred)
