About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Troubleshoot, service, and repair supermarket refrigeration equipment, including parallel rack systems, refrigerated cases, walk-in coolers, and freezers
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control issues and make effective repairs
- Perform preventive maintenance to improve reliability and catch problems before emergency calls
- Troubleshoot compressors, evaporators, condensers, valves, defrost systems, and refrigeration controls
- Read wiring diagrams and schematics to identify problems and determine next steps
- Communicate with store managers about equipment issues, repairs, and follow-up needs
- Complete service records, including work performed, parts used, and refrigerant handling
- Follow safety procedures and applicable refrigerant handling requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Hands-on experience servicing supermarket refrigeration equipment and parallel rack systems
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills and understanding of refrigeration operation
- Experience diagnosing refrigeration controls, defrost issues, and temperature problems
- Ability to work independently, prioritize service needs, and know when to ask for support
- Clear communication, dependable follow-through, and pride in your work
- Experience with electronic refrigeration controls and energy management systems would help
- Experience troubleshooting multiple rack configurations and equipment brands would help
