About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Produce all internal communications, including monthly colleague and manager updates
  • Maintain internal channels including the intranet, Slack, internal newsletters and Town Halls
  • Structure and deliver global Town Halls
  • Work with senior stakeholders and provide best-practice Internal Communications guidance
  • Create and deliver internal campaigns aligned with key strategies and programmes
  • Deliver communications that connect colleagues with Smart’s Mission, Vision, Objectives and Values
  • Handle internal communication responses to crisis situations
  • Organise and run annual events, including the Summer party, Christmas party and Smart awards
  • Partner with the Chief People Officer and Senior Leadership Team
  • Lead initiatives that enhance internal communication strategies, drive engagement and facilitate a cohesive work environment
  • Use data and insights to identify effective approaches and improve engagement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience of working in an Internal Comms role
  • Experience managing multiple communications channels, including email, Slack, intranet and events
  • Strong communication skills
  • Exceptional written English
  • Attention to detail
  • Proficiency in G Suite
  • Ability to build effective relationships with team members and stakeholders
  • Data-driven mindset
  • Comfortable using insight and analytics to measure and improve engagement
  • Creative thinking
  • Understanding of global communication dynamics, including cultural sensitivity and time zone considerations
  • Demonstrated experience developing and enhancing employer value propositions
  • Background in a technology business is advantageous
  • Familiarity with the financial services or pensions industry is a plus
