About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead BIM and VDC efforts for building automation and EPMS scope on assigned critical infrastructure projects
- Develop, maintain, and update project models for BAS and EPMS system panels, field devices, conduit, and raceways
- Integrate company scope into federated project models with trade partners and project stakeholders
- Perform clash detection and constructability reviews using Navisworks and Autodesk Construction Cloud
- Drive issue tracking, follow-up, and resolution of model conflicts affecting installation, access, coordination, or sequencing
- Collaborate with project managers, field leaders, installation teams, and external designers on real-time model updates
- Validate constructability and align model content with installation requirements to support field issue resolution
- Maintain model accuracy throughout the project lifecycle and support complete, reliable as-built conditions
- Help establish and improve BIM/VDC standards, workflows, and best practices
- Generate and maintain clash reports, issue logs, model status updates, and coordination tracking documentation
- Communicate coordination priorities, open issues, and follow-up actions to internal teams and trade partners
- Create visuals and exhibits for construction logistics, project phasing, installation planning, and stakeholder presentations
- Provide project leadership with updates on model progress, coordination status, field impacts, and risk areas
- Support documentation of as-built model completeness and turnover deliverables at project closeout
- Complete assigned tasks and deliverables on time and on budget
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or related discipline OR 3 years of experience with Revit modeling
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a BIM/VDC lead coordination engineer on large-scale construction projects
- Advanced proficiency with Revit MEP
- Advanced proficiency with Navisworks
- Advanced proficiency using Autodesk Construction Cloud and/or BIM 360
- Experience with clash detection, model coordination, and federated model workflows
- Ability to interpret construction documents, shop drawings, and field installation conditions
- Familiarity with laser scanning, point clouds, drone capture, or reality capture workflows preferred
- Experience producing construction visuals, sequencing plans, and presentation-ready graphics preferred
- Knowledge of building automation systems, scope, components, and construction
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams
- Ability to complete assignments accurately and with attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment with communication, organization, self-motivation, proactiveness, and resourcefulness
- Ability to leverage AI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows and improve operational processes
- Effective oral and written communication of technical and non-technical information
- Ability to work independently with moderate supervision and as part of a team
- Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines
- Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Valid driver’s license and ability to rent vehicles
- Ability to work effectively in active construction-site environments
- Ability to move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds on occasion
