Senior Governance Engineering Specialist

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the design, implementation, and continuous evolution of engineering standards and lean tools across the manufacturing network
- Conduct data-driven assessments and develop scalable systems
- Ensure program sustainability through coaching, training, and cross-functional collaboration
- Lead systematic site reviews and analyze complex performance data
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen compliance, and accelerate improvement initiatives
- Analyze the M-IQ program and develop content aligned with business priorities
- Advance A3 problem-solving, lean tool adoption, and data-driven decision-making
- Lead special projects, new technology implementations, and cross-functional initiatives
- Develop and facilitate standardized trainings and workshops across M-IQ locations
- Research, document, and deliver training packages for lean tools
- Coach managers and lead improvement teams
- Embed continuous improvement methodologies and guide teams across multiple locations
- Facilitate standard changes through stakeholder communication and plant coordination
- Develop and conduct compliance audits, evaluations, and reviews
- Provide weekly reports on individual, departmental, and program-level contributions
- Conduct data collection, root cause analysis, Value Stream Mapping, and operational troubleshooting
- Perform cost analysis and develop standard costing models for production
- Establish systems supporting data-based decision-making and continuous improvement
- Ensure consistency in approach, formatting, data integrity, and decision-making processes aligned with enterprise standards
- Solve complex business challenges using critical thinking and insights from diverse sources
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- 5+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required
- Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to learn new programs and technical skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Organizational planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning, and adaptability
- Technical writing skills, including creation of training or reference material
- Ability to train in person and via Teams
- Planning, organization, and execution skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
- Solid analytical skills and practical operational knowledge
- Strong business acumen
- Ability to identify and implement continuous improvement plans, lean manufacturing initiatives, 5S, value stream mapping, and statistical process control
- Attention to detail, self-motivation, innovation, and ability to operate autonomously
- Ability to transfer continuous improvement knowledge to less experienced specialists and plant operations personnel
- Ability to develop high-performing hourly teams and coach salary personnel
- Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time
- Must be comfortable working in a production setting
- 2+ years within a continuous improvement role preferred
- Understanding of advanced continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles preferred
