About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the evolution of Snorkel AI's visual brand identity, including logo system, typography, color, illustration, iconography, data visualization, motion, and photography direction
- Create and maintain brand guidelines, Figma libraries, templates, and design artifacts
- Enable marketing, sales, research, and recruiting teams to produce on-brand work
- Manage the design agency and freelance contractors, including briefing, creative direction, reviews, quality, scope, timelines, budgets, and sourcing decisions
- Lead creative for funding and company announcements, research and benchmark launches, flagship events, and conference presence at NeurIPS and other AI venues
- Develop visual language for benchmark results, charts, diagrams, papers, leaderboards, and research blog posts
- Partner with researchers to communicate complex ideas clearly and rigorously
- Collaborate with web, content, and product marketing on websites, campaigns, social, sales decks, and event experiences
- Establish intake, prioritization, review, and approval processes
- Introduce AI-assisted design workflows while maintaining quality
- Report to the CMO
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years of brand or visual design experience, including in-house brand design at a high-growth technology company
- Portfolio showing identity or rebrand work led end to end, plus web, campaigns, events, videos, and data visualization applications
- Experience directing external design agencies and freelancers, including writing briefs, managing scope and budget, and maintaining high quality standards
- Expert craft in typography, layout, color, and composition
- Deep fluency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience building scalable design systems and brand guidelines
- Track record leading ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders
- Ability to make decisions without close oversight
- Comfort translating technical and research content into clear, compelling visuals
- Bonus: Experience at an AI, developer tools, or research-driven company
- Bonus: Hands-on use of generative AI tools in design workflow
- Bonus: Motion design, 3D, or creative coding skills
